Designing for FGDesigns
I’m an independent knitwear designer, teacher, and author. This means that I work for my own company and collaborate with others when I feel inspired to do so. I love it.
I create patterns that help reflect my love for texture, shape, and color. Designing knitwear is where my creativity meets my curiosity—every stitch is a small decision, every pattern a story in motion.
I learned how to knit when I was 8 year-old. My first project was top-down socks. And as it often happens, I felt such connection to knitting right away that I never let it go.
For many years I custom designed garments and took many classes from professional designers to improve my skills. I was taught to design from measurements and swatches ending with a perfect finishing that brings my project to a professional and clean look.
All this helped me to get to where I am now.
Teaching college math for many years deeply shaped how I approach now pattern writing. I write patterns that are clear, supportive, and friendly for all because I want a knitter to feel confident and inspired. It’s such a joy to see how each person brings their own creativity to a design. I want my patterns to be a space where you can learn, experiment, and enjoy the process every step of the way.
My patterns are more than instructions — they’re invitations to play, learn, and create something that’s truly yours.
If you’re curious, creative, and ready to grow your skills, I’m here to cheer you on and help make the process joyful from the very first stitch.
